Lesson for Stock Market players. :)

November 18, 2006

The Stock Market simply illustrated…. There is a lesson here….

Once upon a time, in a village a man appeared who announced to the villagers that he would buy monkeys for Rs10. The villagers seeing that there were many monkeys went out in the forest and started catching them.
The man bought thousands at Rs10 and as supply started to diminish and villagers started to stop their effort he announced that now he would buy at Rs20. This renewed the efforts of the villagers and they started catching monkeys again. Soon the supply diminished even further and people started going back to their farms.
The offer rate increased to Rs25 and the supply of monkeys became so that it was an effort to even see a monkey let alone catch it.
The man now announced that he would buy monkeys at Rs50! However, since he had to go to the city on some business his assistant would now buy on behalf of the man.
In the absence of the man, the assistant told the villagers. “Look at all these monkeys in the big cage that the man has collected. I will sell them to you at Rs35 and when the man comes back, you can sell it to him for Rs50.”
The villager squeezed up with all their savings to buy the monkeys. Then they never saw the man nor his assistant, only monkeys everywhere!!!!
Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler.

I think.. we are villagers and the FIIs the Business man.

A trip to Savandurga.

November 3, 2006

Went for a short bike trip to Savandurga this wednesday Nov.1st, with my friends.

A left turn some 7 kms before Magadi in Magadi road reduced our travel distance by some 8 kms and itz around 65 kms from bangalore city. Nice road to drive on and lotz of quarries on the way and road having lotz of bends and turns makes your drive a splendid one. The road which we turned before magadi took us via a village (some 4 kms stretch) which resembles the one shown in Tamil movies by Bharathiraja (in Tamil). Honking for hens, Goats and Cows we drove thro’ that village and reached the main road which connects Savandurga and Hosapte (near magadi). And you will not miss the big Bangalore tourism hoarding of savandurga hill. Take left there and the road thro’ thick vegetation leads to savandurga.

So whatz there?? A temple in the foot of the hill and a stone Nandi (like the one in Nandi hills) in the extreme top of the hill. What amazed me is the hill. Itz huge rock standing at around 40 degress and at 70 degress at some place.Marking is there along the rocks to guide you thro’ the easiest way and if u miss the marking you may be lost among the huge rocks. So we climbed up the hill following the marking and it started raining and we took shelter below a rock which stood like an umbrella. And then we climbed up again to reach the 1st target where we found a mantapa there and we were crawling in some places to climb up and from there crossed thro’ rocks and trees to reach the extreme top of the hill which has the the nandi statue. We can see miles in all directions.

We started to descend and it was more difficult than before as you feel like you are being pushed from behind. Rock is chipped off at some places where it is very steep which will really help you. Be careful while climbing up and down and if u are afraid of deep valleys don’t climb. And It turned out to be a thrilling and breathtaking trekking experience for us.

November 3, 2006

Worried abt “did-not-receive-your-chat” in Gtalk when ur friends are offline. If so, you will be pleased to hear that Google talk team is making things a little bit better by turning on another top requested feature in Google Talk: offline messages.

As you’d expect, this enables you to send messages to Google Talk friends who are offline. The messages will be delivered to your friends the next time they sign in with Google Talk or a third-party client. And when they sign in to Gmail, offline messages will be displayed as unread messages in their inbox.
